The impact of inspiring lunch without waste for 10 years

Waterloo, August 2017. In a little over a year FENIGO will be celebrating 10 years in operation. In the past
decade, FENIGO has evolved from humble beginnings in the founder’s basement to a thriving local lunchbox
store with a growing online presence and bustling retail and wholesale business. In the future, the FENIGO
Team plans to continue to inspire the #LifeWithoutWaste movement, spurring others to reduce waste in
practical steps towards a more sustainable future.

The idea for FENIGO.com began in the heart of Jana as a way to share reusable products she already used with her friends and loved ones. Jana was appalled at how much Canadians wasted in their daily lives; as a child Jana would bring her own glass jar to the store to be filled with sour cream. What started as a personal lifestyle choice grew into a successful online store with loyal customers all over the Canada & the US, shipping straight from Jana’s basement. The demand increased so much that Jana had to move her inventory to a storefront and warehouse.

As FENIGO’s capacity increased so did the demand from customers and fellow business owners for large
quantities of the quality brands FENIGO sold. “We developed amazing relationships with our suppliers and
we started to wholesale because people kept asking for more of these products,” Jana Salcevica, founder of
FENIGO, said on the decision to increase FENIGO’s services to include distribution, “We wanted to distribute
products we loved to our fellow Canadian retailers.” Today, FENIGO boasts one of the largest selections of
litter-less lunch products in Canada, a loyal customer base worldwide, and an increasingly impressive
wholesale distribution list.

In the past decade FENIGO has become the trusted name for parents, families and individuals who desire to
pursue lives that reduce waste. Each year since its inception, FENIGO has sponsored events, supported
campaigns and partnered with organizations that encourage sustainable lifestyles. The heart of FENIGO
has always been to inspire people to pursue thoughtful purchases and avoid single-use waste in achievable,
practical steps. In the seemingly unstoppable shadow of climate change and environmental degradation
