Leslie Franklin

Leslie is an award winning Manitoba artist working in alcohol ink, watercolour and encaustic. Her style combines elements of free flowing, vibrant colour, producing expressive, unconventional results.

Leslie has a Bachelor of Science and often experiments with new reactions medium densities and techniques. She has studied watercolour under world renowned artists Alvaro Castagnet, Jean Haines, Ken Hosmer and John Lovett. She has a Certificate in Forensic Composite Drawing for Law Enforcement.

An animal advocate, Leslie strives to draw the viewer into her dynamic animal paintings, making the viewer mindful of the existence and beauty of other species. By extension she hopes to elevate people's concern and action on issues that affect animals such as humane treatment and preservation of endangered habitats.

Leslie is a select member of the Federation of Canadian Artists and Manitoba Society of Artists. Her work is carried at Pulse Gallery in Winnipeg, MB, Webster Galleries in Calgary, AB and Tutt Street Gallery in Kelowna, BC.
